FREE RIDE TO THE SC PECAN FESTIVAL WITH DONATION![]() posted on Thursday, October 21, 2010 Local residents and out of town visitors can take Florence Transit System buses to the Pecan Festival on Saturday, November 6. And, with a donation of a canned or packaged food item, PDRTA will waive the bus fare! PDRTA is partnering with the South Carolina Pecan Festival to accept food donations to the Harvest Hope Food Bank during the Festival. PDRTA will donate 25% of its Saturday, November 6 transit fares to Harvest Hope. PDRTA will have a booth at the festival where visitors can get information on PDRTA services. Representatives from Logisticare LLC will be at the booth to inform individuals on criteria for obtaining free transportation to medical appointments. Click here for more information. Florence Transit buses run hourly from 8am-noon and 1pm-5pm on Saturdays. All routes begin and end at the corner of Evans and Dargan Sts, in the heart of the Festival. Out of town visitors and local residents can opt to do a Park and Ride by parking at a local bus stop and taking the bus to downtown. Suggested Park and Ride locations are:

Bus fare is $1.50 each way, with senior citizens 65 and older, persons with disabilities, and Medicare card holders riding for half price. All PDRTA buses are wheelchair accessible. For those parking downtown, PDRTA provides free shuttle service around the Festival perimeter. The shuttle runs continuously from 9am to 5pm.
