PDRTA COVID-19 UPDATE

PDRTA COVID-19 UPDATE

posted on Tuesday, March 17, 2020

PRESS RELEASE
March 17th, 2020

                                                                   PDRTA Update #2 COVID-19

PDRTA has implemented several steps to combat the spread of COVID-19.  We have increased our cleaning with disinfectants across all of our routes and facilities throughout the day and we have continued to clean after each service day.  We are paying particular attention to seats, armrests, grab rails, handles and fare-boxes.  Drivers are receiving updates as we receive them and they are also equipped with their own supplies on each bus.  The Administrative Office, Maintenance and Call Center are closed to the general public.

Tomorrow we are implementing the following strategies:

1. We will operate with all windows that will open in order to increase the natural ventilation throughout our fleet

2. All passengers that are able to will exit from the rear doors in an attempt to reduce traffic.

3. Passengers are encouraged to spread out to increase social distancing

4. Passengers are asked not to use public transit services if they are not feeling well

5. PDRTA is operating larger buses on commuter routes to allow passengers to spread out and distance themselves from others

6. Passengers are encouraged to have their exact fares ready when boarding to reduce the time at the fare-box with the operator

7. As always we encourage passengers to not bring food and beverages on board

It is our goal at PDRTA to maintain our existing service levels and provide dependable public transportation to those that need it.  We will update our website(www.pdrta.org), Facebook and push notifications through our PDRTA-Sync APP if we have any service changes.  Passengers may also call us at 843-665-2227 ext 2 for any questions or concerns.
