FLORENCE AND DARLINGTON PUBLIC HEARINGSposted on Friday, August 02, 2013 The Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority is considering reducing service in Florence on the Florence Transit System. This reduction could have impacts on the Florence Transit System Routes 1-6. Insufficient funding required to support service is the reason for this consideration. Public comments regarding this matter may be made in person at Public Hearings scheduled for Monday, August 12th, 2013 between 3-4 pm and between 6-7 pm at Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority in the Board Room located at 313 S. Stadium Rd Florence SC, 29506. Those interested can use Rt. 3 for the 3pm meeting and also the trip to the 6pm meeting but there will be NO service beyond 6pm. Written comments will be received until Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at PDRTA, 313 S. Stadium Rd., Florence, SC 29506 or via e-mail through our website at www.pdrta.org. Persons who cannot attend either Public Hearings or submit a written comment but wish to comment may do so by calling Don Strickland, PDRTA Transportation Manager, at (843) 665-2227 ext 136.
