Be sure to have the street address of where you need to be picked up, a working phone number, and the street address of your destination handy when you call. If you have a medical or other appointment time, tell the dispatcher the time of the appointment. If you are in a wheelchair or require assistance boarding or exiting the vehicle, please tell the dispatcher when you make your reservation. If you are traveling with a child, you must provide a car seat that meets legal requirements.

Be Ready for Your Ride

Your dispatcher will tell you the approximate time your ride will arrive and what time you need to be ready. Your Driver will wait 5 minutes for you to board. Have your exact fare ready. PDRTA drivers cannot make change. Pay only the one-way fare. Drivers do not accept round-trip fares.

Boarding the Vehicle

PDRTA drivers will assist passengers with disabilities on and off the vehicle. Paratransit service is "curb to curb", and PDRTA drivers do not assist passengers from their homes.

Riding the Vehicle

After paying your fare, take your seat as quickly as possible. Do not move around on a moving bus. PDRTA requires that all passengers wear seat belts.

Please, no eating, drinking, smoking, or radios without earphones on the bus. If you use a cell phone, please do so courteously. Use care and courtesy when carrying items such as umbrellas, groceries and other packages. Help keep the bus clean and take all trash with you.

Exiting the Bus

PDRTA drivers will assist passengers with disabilities off the bus. Paratransit service is "curb to curb", and PDRTA drivers do not assist passengers into their homes. After you exit, NEVER walk in front of or behind the bus.

Pickup for "Will Call" Riders

If you are using PDRTA paratransit for open-ended trips such as doctor appointments and don't know when you'll be ready for your return trip, please notify the Dispatcher when you make your reservation. When your appointment is over, please call the PDRTA Dispatcher and say that you are ready to be picked up. Be sure to tell the Dispatcher your location, especially if you are in a large medical complex. PDRTA will contact the driver to let him know you're ready. It may take up to an hour for your ride to arrive.

Cancellations and No Shows

If you need to cancel a trip for any reason, please call the PDRTA Dispatcher as soon as possible. Repeated cancellations or being a "no show" (not ready or not showing up for the ride) may limit future riding privileges.
