Following on the heels of extended hours of operation for Darlington's DART transit and the new HART fixed route service in Hartsville on October 3, PDRTA has re-configured its Hartsville-Darlington-Florence commuter bus times to better coordinate service.

The Hartsville-Darlington-Florence Commuter will now offer additional runs during the day, and all runs will share certain stops with either HART or DART and connect with the Florence Transit System Route 2 bus.

"PDRTA supports local communities," Executive Director Janice Baroody said. "We respond to the needs of citizens who want a convenient, affordable, and "green" alternative to the automobile. Local bus service gives all residents another option for getting to work, shopping, medical appointments, and other local activities. But we also know that there are times when residents need transportation to other destinations. The Hartsville-Darlington-Florence Commuter builds on the local routes. We have over 100 Florence-Darlington Technical College students from Hartsville and Darlington using the Commuter, and we also have many residents who work in neighboring cities using the service. We've done well, but by re-configuring the route to add more runs, we're better able to serve workers, students, and others."

The Commuter runs Monday through Friday and connects with the Florence Transit System Route 2 bus at Florence Darlington Tech. Route 2 continues to downtown Florence, where riders can access all Florence Transit buses.
